Greetings!

Front page news:  The forum was featured this week on the front page of the Simsbury Post.  Many have commented on how informative and balanced the presentations were.

TV coverage:  For those of you who missed it, the forum will air in its entirety every Tuesday in February on Simsbury Community Television (SCTV) Channel 5 at 2 PM and 9 PM.  SCTV will also air a special featuring highlights from the forum on Our Simsbury, hosted by Jerry Lintner.  This program will play every Monday at 12:30 and 7:30 on SCTV Channel 5.  Finally, the educational program hosted by Buzz Holmes on "Aquifers" is back by popular demand and will air every Wednesday in February at 11:30 AM.  The SCTV schedules are available here - AM , PM.

Update on TPL in New England:  TPL recently had a major success in Maine.  Read the Hartford Courant article about it here.
 
Upcoming Events / Save the Dates!! 
 
1.  Connecticut Council on Environmental Quality will hold a Public Forum in Simsbury on Feb 22nd, 10 AM, Simsbury Town Hall to hear any environmental concerns and complaints that citizens wish to raise.
2.  The first CT Trout Unlimited Day will be held this Saturday, February 11th at Yale University in New Haven.  Members and friends welcome!
3.  Trout Unlimited will hold their annual banquet on March 31st at the USS Chowder Pot IV in Hartford.  Gina McCarthy, the Commissioner of the CT Department of Environmental Protection, will speak!  Tickets $35, guaranteed to be fun and informative, with great prizes!  Download the flyer and mail or reply to this email to reserve your tickets.
 
We eagerly await word of the negotiated settlement between the Trust for Public Land and Ethel Walker School.  If you know any individuals, foundations, or other sources of money for such an important preservation project, reply to this email.
