Greetings!

Keep the Woods wishes everyone a Happy New Year and reflects on the historic progress made in 2006.  Consider one year ago, and how far we have come.  We are in the final stretch, and just need to raise private monies to close this deal!

If you appreciate the tireless efforts to preserve this property, it is time for you to donate generously.  This land is a permanent and irreplaceable asset.  Don’t miss 2006, and make another donation as soon as possible in 2007.  THANK YOU if you have already sent in a generous donation.

All donation information, including companies offering matching funds, detailed instructions for stock contributions, and contact information can be found here:

In addition to donating to this effort, please add a membership or make a donation to the non-profit organizations that have partnered with us and supported this effort:

Farmington River Watershed Association www.frwa.org

Farmington Valley Trout Unlimited www.tu.org

FRWA and FVTU are official partners with Keep the Woods, The Trust for Public Land and The Ethel Walker School in this project.  Based on this partnership there is beautiful full color brochure, called the “Case Statement”, with photos and descriptions of the various conservation values of this property.  If you are interested in donating and would like to read more about the project in the Case Statement, or would like to send a brochure to others who might be interested, reply to this email with your address and I will send copies out to you.

Other organizations that have lent a great deal of expertise and support include:

Rivers Alliance www.riversalliance.org

Connecticut Fund for the Environment www.cfe.org

Also, support Simsbury Community Television, (SCTV; www.sctv.org) the local channel that Keeps Simsbury Informed, and continue to support the Simsbury Land Trust, www.slt.org - devoted to preserving open space in Simsbury for 30 years.

Finally, all the best to you.  We are counting on your significant participation to make this project a success.

Sincerely,

Susan Masino
