Greetings!

If you are available, please attend a press conference Thursday, April 5th, 11AM at The Mill, on Tunxis Road in Tariffville.  Congressman Chris Murphy will discuss his work to increase funding for the Wild & Scenic River Program (http://www.rivers.gov/), his legislation to designate the Metacomet Monadnock Mattabesett Trail the New England National Scenic Trail (http://www.mmmtrail.org), and his new appointment as the Chairman of the Open Space Caucus of the 110th Congress.

Congressman Murphy is very aware of the importance of the Ethel Walker property and will be instrumental in identifying federal monies for important open space projects.  Even if you can’t attend, let him hear from you!

Send him an email via his legislative assistant Anna.Morozovsky@mail.house.gov

Snail mail to his DC address:

On Monday evening, April 23rd, Richard Louv, author or “Last Child in the Woods:  Saving our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder” will be speaking at Yale University.  I have seen him speak and I know it will be a great lecture.  Here is a link to a Q & A session with Richard Louv:  http://www.grist.org/news/maindish/2006/03/30/louv/ - a link at the bottom will get you to a book review.
