KTW meeting on Wednesday, September 12^th, 7PM at the Maple Tree.  We need help with flyers, and will vote on spending some of KTW’s monies on education and educational materials.  See you there!   

 

Congressman Chris Murphy will be in Simsbury September 15^th for some doorknocking.  He is Chair of the Open Space Caucus, and will be coming to Simsbury at around noon after a “Congressman on the Corner” event in Farmington.  A special guest - Wayne David, a member of the British Parliament, will be joining Congressman Murphy on Saturday.  Some tentative streets on the itinerary include Longview Drive, Chestnut Hill, and Woodhaven Drive.  Feel free to join Chris as he visits Simsbury.

 

On-line petition to save Connecticut watershed land:  A second attempt is being made to develop the Yale Farms Golf Resort (Canaan, Norfolk). The first proposal was turned down by DEP when they studied the withdrawal of an estimated 10-30 million gallons of water per season in the watersheds of Ginger Creek, Whiting and Blackberry Rivers coupled with catastrophic landscaping in 780 acres of pristine forest, meadow and farmland.  Please consider signing the on-line petition being circulated by environmental groups, including Trout Unlimited.

Interim in-town information: 

Simsbury is holding a series of hearings on a planned development district (PDD) submitted by Konover that would apply throughout the town, and will be holding a public hearing on our town Plan of Conservation and Development.  Please attend - town officials need to hear from residents about major issues that affect the town forever.
