Fabulous MAPS and newly marked trails

There will be wonderful color MAPS of the property available on Sunday - a lot of you have asked about a map to help you learn your way around.  There will be guided walks on the trails.  As a special treat, the Ethel Walker School hopes to feature some riders jumping the cross-country course in the horse pasture next to the event.

Many people are pushing to include environmental education as part of the “NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND” initiative.  It would be a wonderful combination of “NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND” and “NO CHILD LEFT INSIDE”.  I know many of you support these educational initiatives very strongly.

Other important information:

Wednesday, September 19th, 7:00, Simsbury High School cafeteria.  Public Hearing on the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD).

The POCD is the “DNA” for a town, and serves to guide land use policy for the next 10 years.  It’s really important!

The POCD can be read on-line here:

Come to the public hearing to hear more and have an opportunity to speak.  If you cannot attend, send your comments to Hiram Peck at Town Hall.

Finally, the first “in-town” email went out earlier.  If you did not receive an “in town” email from me but would like to in the future, reply to this and I will either add you to the list  - or see if I misspelled or misplaced your email in my first attempt!

NEXT KTW MEETING:  October 17th, 7:00 PM, Maple Tree Café.  Other events and conferences will be announced prior to the KTW meeting.

See you Wednesday and/or SUNDAY!!
