FACE OF CONNECTICUT CAMPAIGN MEETING

The Face of Connecticut Campaign is an alliance of over 50 organizations calling for the state to significantly increase and coordinate its investments in natural and agricultural lands conservation, historic preservation and community redevelopment.  Members of Keep the Woods were present at the signing of the Face of Connecticut bill earlier this year, and Keep the Woods is a coalition member.  

FOC continues with a KICK-OFF meeting for the next year of grassroots work.  The goal is a broad-based effort reflecting the State’s commitment to invest in preserving Connecticut’s distinctive landscapes, historic villages and urban centers by receiving and disbursing funds in support of responsible growth and the safeguarding of our natural and manmade landscapes and historic assets.  An ad-hoc steering committee has met twice a month since June. On November 1st, they'd like to share progress and discuss next steps for the upcoming campaign for 2008 legislative session.
