Fundraising Banquet! WOW! What an outstanding event!! An enormous thank you to all who donated to and/or attended the event. It was a resounding success, and adds even more momentum and public awareness to our efforts. It was truly awesome to have a sold-out event where so many people from the community and beyond came together to share their energy, ideas, and enthusiasm toward the preservation of this important piece of land. THANK YOU!!!!

When: Friday, September 23, 2005, 6:00 p.m.
Where: Avon Old Farms Inn.
Tickets: $35 per person (this just pays for the buffet dinner).

We’ll have a live and silent auction, door prize raffle and bucket raffles (cash or check only, and this is how we’ll raise money).  This will be a great opportunity to shop for holiday gifts or gifts for yourself, or plan your 2006 vacation, while providing Keep the Woods with much needed support, and having a lot of fun.  Please come join your friends, neighbors and fellow community members while we all support our cause and have a great time.  (No heavy speeches, we promise!)

Please call Carol Miller @ 651-1134 for tickets, or come to the next community meeting at Flamig Farm, or connect with Susan (651-6790), Karen (658-6530), or any other friend in the loop.  Can you donate a prize (restaurant or retail gift certificates, gift baskets, sporting goods, framed pictures, pottery, jewelry, time in vacation homes, and on and on) for the auctions and raffles? Please let us know. If you are busy that night, but would like to make a cash donation, please let us know that, too.

Our Banquet is being co-sponsored by Farmington Valley Trout Unlimited, a local branch of a nationwide organization that works to preserve cold water trout habitat.  The Ethel Walker woods are part of the Stratton Brook Watershed, a critical habitat.
